Timber Floor Jobs We Do Across Auckland
Full Floor Sanding and Polishing
Scratches through the coating, grey timber and old stains all call for the full job. Our floor sanding Auckland service covers it with three sanding passes from 40 to 120 grit and three coats on top.
Choose this if the coating has worn through anywhere. A recoat can’t fix bare patches.
Native Timber and Villa Floor Restoration
Rimu, kauri and matai sit under the carpet in most villas and bungalows we visit, and they dent more easily than oak. Heritage villa floor sanding means pulling old staples, punching nail heads and checking the boards still have enough timber left to sand.
Pick this one if your house is a villa or bungalow.
Floor Staining and Colour Matching
Staining is the job we do when you want a darker or paler floor, or new boards that must match the old ones. Native timber pushes its own colour through a stain, so floor staining always starts with test patches on your own floor.
Buff and Recoat
A recoat is the lighter job we offer when the floor looks dull but the coating is still whole. One or two fresh coats go on without sanding back to bare timber, which keeps timber in the boards for later.
Your floor suits a recoat if it has no grey or bare patches.
Floorboard Repairs and Gap Filling
Split boards, loose boards and narrow gaps get fixed by us before any sanding starts. Repairs usually come as part of a sand, though some floors only need a board or two replaced.
Mention springy spots, rot or water damage when you call.
Parquet Floor Sanding
Parquet grain runs in several directions, so we change the sanding angle between passes and finish with a fine pass to remove cross-grain marks. Loose blocks get re-glued before parquet floor sanding and polishing starts, so the machine doesn’t tear them out.
Timber Staircase Sanding
A drum sander can’t work on a stair, so every tread, nosing and riser is sanded with edge and detail sanders. Timber staircase sanding and polishing is priced per staircase, and we plan the coat times so you can still get upstairs.
Engineered Timber Floor Sanding
Engineered boards only take a full sand if the hardwood top layer is thick enough, and we measure it before quoting. Thin layers get a buff and recoat instead, because once engineered timber floor sanding cuts through that layer, the board can’t be fixed.
Deck Sanding and Oiling
Grey, flaking decks are sanded back to clean wood, then get two coats of penetrating oil, clear or tinted. Soft or rotten boards need replacing before deck sanding and oiling begins, and the deck stays off-limits for at least 24 hours afterwards.
Commercial and Sports Floor Sanding
Shops, offices, cafés, gyms and school halls get booked around trading hours and term breaks. Larger spaces can be done in zones, so commercial floor sanding and polishing doesn’t have to close the whole site.
